So, I noticed that a few people have tried to get a new password sent... both denied. I don't know why. D: I thought an upgrade to the eFiction would fix that. ARGH!

If you guys even care at this point, I apologize for this lame inconvenience. If you want, make an account on the forum and you can post to the Fan Fiction Zone board while this is being looked at. **facedesk**



In the meantime, I set a new email address. It could be part of the problem, but most likely it's a problem needing a full reinstall of this barftastic beast.

Just another speed bump in the revival process of this site! ¬_¬

Fanfiction GO!
eFiction has been updated to the latest version. Anonymous posting has also disabled. I hope that slows down bots. Sorry about leaving this to collect dust. If there are any problems, please report them to the forum!

QUESTION FOR ALL EFICTION USERS
All right I cannot find anyone to repair the errors that eFiction has. I have thought about it and I am willing to offer all users here the options as follow:

1) Leave everything the way it is and live with the errors and hope when an update comes out it will fix these errors.

2) Uninstall eFiction, delete the database and start all over again with a FRESH installation, just like before meaning we would have a 2nd archive to download.

3) SVT will look for software similar to eFiction and install it in it's place, both systems would be up until all users have migrated over to the new system at that point eFiction would be removed.

Please let me know which option you guys would prefer and we will begin work on it right away.

Database Error For New User Registration PLEASE READ
All right there seems to be a coding error somewhere in the user registration that when you try and register it spits out garble afterwards. I have changed the way the site operates in order to disable the CAPTCHA verification and the random password generator. You will now be able to select your own password and register. You will still get the garbled information but now you should be able to log into your account. PLEASE e-mail me at admin@sonicverseteam.net with any problems if you register and cannot log into your account. I will try to locate someone to figure out what the exact problem is.

Challenges Are Back!
Hey I found the feature to turn the challenges back on, they can now be found under "Browse" then clicking on "Challenges" where you can submit to issue a challenge. No luck yet on the review system yet, sorry.

DataBase Corruption
I don't know why everyone but the database was crashed earlier today. I have tried many times to restore everything but it just did not work. What this basically means is that I had to wipe the database completely. Everything is gone and everyone will have to re-register their accounts. HOWEVER, this is not without fail. Instead of putting the stories in the database they were saved as files. This means that I have ALL the stories that were on the server as of yesterday. But they do not have titles, the are labeled by number. I will allow this WinZip (.zip) for download. It is about 11MB in size, 151MB when unpacked and contains well over 1,000 stories. If you want your story back on this site and you do not have a copy of it on your hard drive here is what you need to do:



1) Download the zip file

2) Unpack the zip file to a specified folder, I would recommend creating a new one called "stories" to do this.

3) Open your search panel and set it to look in the "stories" folder.

4) Type in the title of your story, it should search through this folder and pull up a couple results.



I cannot being to apologize for all the trouble this issue has caused. In this event I have decided that the eFiction of the site WILL NOT BE CLOSING. This section will stay up, I do ask that you do visit the message board once in a while and chat on there as well.
