As kids, NiGHTS and Reala were orphans. Both didn't know where they had come from, all they knew was each other. They may not really be brothers, but even so, they consider each other as such and thus, they carry a strong bond. Later on, Wizeman found them and took them in. NiGHTS tends to be a slacker and not care about his duties. It's just because he's carefree and doesn't feel the need to tie himself down, which causes him to get nagged by Reala constantly. Yet, even though he doesn't seem to care, he has a high attuned sense of things going on around him, and is attentive when something doesn't feel quite right.
