SONIC and TAILS

	After defeating Snively, Sonic, Tails, Nate, and Nathan had decided to break up for 
awhile to relax. Sonic and Tails had decided that they would go back on their missed 
vacation and get a little rest and relaxation, while Nate and Nathan took Sally back to 
Mobotropolis to help rebuild it. The city was heavily damaged from Snively's assault and 
everyone knew it would take awhile to get things back to normal again. 
	Sonic and Tails had restarted the biplane and where flying around Mobius. They 
didn't have any real plans to go anywhere so they had just decided to go flying around 
the planet until something caught their eye.
	"Sonic, what are we going to do now? It's been awhile since we took a break," 
Tails asked looking up at Sonic, who had been standing up on the wing for a long time.
	"I don't know what we're going to do, but let's land for now," Sonic said looking 
back to Tails, "I see a really cool beach below us."
	"Sure thing Sonic," Tails said as he cut back on the throttle and began to land.
	Tails brought the plan down and after he had cut the engine off, they both jumped 
onto the sand. 
	"This place looks great," Tails said as he took his flight cap off and threw it into the 
cockpit.
	"Yeah," Sonic said as he walked through the sand.
	Both of them decided to lay back in the sand and get some rest and just relax. 
They will only just starting to fall asleep when a messenger stepped out in front of them, 
blocking the sun.
	"Excuse me," the messenger said looking down at Tails, "but are you, Miles 
Prower?"
	"Yes I am, and it is Tails," Tails said looking up at him.
	"I have a letter for you," the messenger said reaching into his bag and pulling out a 
letter; he handing Tails the letter. Tails walked back to the plane and came back with 
some money in his hand and gave the guy a tip. As the messenger walked away, Tails 
opened the letter.
	"Who's it from?" Sonic asked standing up next to Tails.
	"It's from, Nate," Tails said as he started reading the letter.
	"Well you going to tell me what it says?" Sonic asked.
	"It says," Tails started, "that Mobotropolis is rebuilding fine and the he is coming to 
find us to give us a big surprise."
	"Interesting, I wonder what this certain surprise is," Sonic said as he started 
walking towards the plan
	"I guess we will just have to wait and see," Tails said as he folded the letter up.
	"I guess you're right," said Sonic, "let's go!"
	"What do you mean, Sonic?" Tails asked a little shocked.
	"Knowing them, our surprise is probably wanting our help to rebuild the city," Sonic 
said, "Sorry, but I want to enjoy my vacation."
	"Yeah, I agree with you there Sonic," Tails said as he gathered up the stuff he had 
taken out of the biplane.
	Both jumped back into the plane and after getting the engine started, the two left 
the beach.
	"Where are we going now?" Tails asked looking up at Sonic.
	"The only place they will never think to look," Sonic said, "Knothole Village."
	"Great idea Sonic, there's some things there that I want to pick up," Tails said as 
he altered the course of the Tornado.
	The trip took the two 3 hours to get to the village. As they landed Sonic jumped off 
the plane's wing and waited for Tails to finish landing the plane. They hadn't landed that 
far from the village, but it was a quick walk to the village. As the two walked into the 
center both of them were amazed to see people walking around and high activity 
throughout the entire village.
	"I thought that Knothole was suppose to be deserted, what in the world is going on 
here?" Sonic asked himself looking around.
	"I have no idea Sonic," Tails said as they got ready to move around the village.
	"Unfortunately Sonic, people have to live here for now," a voice said from behind 
the two.
	"Who's there?" Sonic asked turning around.
	"It's just me, Sonic," Nathan said smiling at the two. His injuries will still obvious 
from his last battle and he looked like he was about ready to pass out in front of them.
	"Nathan, you look awful, what are you doing here?" Tails asked.
	"Living," Nathan answered.
	"What do you mean?" Sonic asked, "Knothole was suppose to have been shut 
down a long time ago."
	"Let me explain," Nathan said, "When we got back to Mobotropolis, Sally asked us 
to start helping with the repairs the damaged sectors. Clean up was going great until, 
Dragon, came. He said he was going to take over Mobius and ordered that we stand 
down without a fight. Nate and I fought against him as hard as we could, but with both of 
us still hurt from the battle with Snively we weren't able to stand up to him with the best 
of luck. Sally and the others got as many people out as they could. She asked me to lead 
the people to the village. When we got to the edge of the city, I waited there for the 
others, but they didn't come, we couldn't just wait there so we made the move to here. I 
think however they have all been captured."
	"Do you know who the rest are?" Sonic asked.
	"Yeah," Nathan said, "Nate, Bunnie, Rotor, Antione, Sally, and Charles."
	"They've all been caught?" Sonic asked completely stunned.
	"Yes, I don't know how though, everything was so quick and clean," Nathan said.
	"But the letter said everything was ok," Tails said as he showed Nathan the letter 
the messenger gave him on the beach.
	"This letter is probably a fake. Dragon must have made Nate write it to throw you 
off," Nathan said.
	"Nathan, how strong is this Dragon guy?" Sonic asked, "If he isn't than Tails and I 
won't have a problem taking him down."
	"He's not very strong, you two should be able to take him down without trouble," 
Nathan said.
	"And what are you going to do?" Tails asked.
	"I'm not exactly up to fighting form," Nathan said, "So while you two are going 
after Dragon, I'll enter the city later and help get the others out."
	"Good plan," Sonic said turning to Tails, "Let's go Tails!" 
	Sonic zoomed out of the village, towards Mobotropolis, with Tails flying closely 
behind.
	"Good luck!" Nathan shouted waving to them.
	Sonic and Tails reached the city in under a minute. As Sonic stopped by the city 
limits, Tails landed by him.
	"We've got to get into the palace," Sonic said as he looked around the outside of 
the city to look for any kind of outside defense.
	"Right," Tails said as he took to the air, "Looks all clear Sonic."
	"Great, let's go," Sonic said as he waited for Tails to land before the two started 
making their way through the interior of the city.
	Sonic and Tails started sneaking around near the palace, they were worried that 
Dragon may have some hidden defenses and they didn't want their cover blown just yet. 
Slowly they made their way closer to the palace doors.
	"We're almost there," Sonic said as they rounded another corner.
	Sonic and Tails reached the palace doors without any kind of first line defense. 
Sonic tried to push the door open but found it locked. Standing back he launched forward 
and using his spikes cut through the door, Tails followed Sonic inside a few seconds later.
	"Man this place sure is dark," Sonic said as they began walking down the hallways.
	"Sure is, I guess Dragon didn't pay the electric bill," Tails said jokingly.
	Both of them kept walking through the dark hallways until they came into the 
throne room, it was the only room in the entire palace that had any decent form of 
lighting in it.
	Suddenly they heard, "So you dare to challenge, Dragon?"
	"You got that right!" Tails shouted into the nothingness.
	"Then you will face one of your own kind!" Dragon said from out of nowhere.
	"Huh?" Sonic and Tails wondered in surprise as all lights focused on one spot on 
the floor. The floor opened up and they could hear a platform rising. As it came up, Sonic 
and Tails saw Nate standing there without any emotion on his face.
	"Nate!" Tails shouted as he went running towards him.
	"Tails! Stop!" Sonic shouted as he noticed the cold expression on Nate's face.
	Tails didn't stop running and he didn't even hear Sonic's pleas for him to stop his 
charge. When he got up to Nate, Nate looked down at him, smiled, and hit him hard.
	"Oooffff!" Tails said as he fell to the ground from the pain of Nate's blow.
	"Want to know the surprise I was going to give you, Miles?" Nate asked looking 
down in a cold smile.
	"And what would it be?" Tails asked as he began to stand up and recover from the 
shock of the blow.
	"The surprise is, I'm going to destroy both of you!" Nate said as he got into an 
offensive position.
	"You can't, Nate, you know we're both stronger than you are!" Sonic said as he 
came up next to Tails.
	"That's were you're wrong," Nate said, "You're still weak from your last battle, 
while I have fully recovered."
	"Rainbow Attitude!" Sonic shouted in rage from Nate's comments.
	Nate easily dodged it and landed on the ground. He looked up and smiled at the 
both of them, "I told you."
	"Electro Sphere!" Tails shouted, he didn't want to attack his own brother, but he 
also didn't want to get killed by him either.
	"Eye Laser!" Nate shouted as his blocked Tails' blast.
	"No way!" Sonic shouted in complete awe.
	"Haa, ha, ha, ha!" Dragon laughed out of no where again.
	"Fireball of Death!" Nate shouted as he held up his hand to face both Sonic and 
Tails.
	"Yaaaaa!" Tails shouted as the fire burned him; Sonic had managed to dodge it at 
the last second, but was unable to get Tails out of the blast area.
	"Why you!" Sonic shouted as he went charging towards Nate. Nate saw this and he 
hit Sonic with a beam.
	"Offff!" said Sonic as he fell to the ground. When he got up a note appeared out of 
nowhere ring in front of him, Sonic picked it up and read it, "Dear Sonic, Use this to heal 
Nate. Just shouted "Yellow crystal heal Nate! Good luck, Nathan."
	As that moment a yellow crystal showed up in front of Sonic. Sonic grabbed it and 
flung it at Nate, just before the crystal smashed into Nate, Sonic shouted, "Yellow crystal 
heal Nate!"
	The crystal turned into a yellow ball of energy and entered Nate's body. His head 
was forced back and his mouth was wide open pointing to the ceiling.
	"Noooooo!!!!" Dragon shouted as he suddenly appeared in the light of the room.
	"Ahhhhhh!!" Nate shouted in pain from what the crystal was doing to his body.
	In a minute the ball came out of Nate's body, turned back into the crystal and 
disappeared. Nate's head came back to its level position and for a few seconds a normal 
expression was on his face, though it was one of pain.
	"Oooooo," Nate moaned as he fell to the ground. The crystal had completely 
drained him and he lye on the floor, almost ready to pass out.
	Tails ran over to him and asked, "Are you all right, Nate?"
	"Yeah I'll be ok," Nate said as he passed out at that moment.
	"How dare you!!" Dragon shouted as he started running towards Sonic.
	"Sonic! Look out!" Tails shouted pointing behind Sonic at Dragon who was already 
extremely close to Sonic.
	"I'm miles ahead of you Miles, er, Tails, good buddy," Sonic said as he just simply 
stepped out of the way of Dragon. Dragon stopped, turned around, and went after Sonic 
again.
	Dragon was halfway towards Sonic when a laser beam hit him, it went right 
through him leaving a decent size hole in him. Dragon fell to the ground with extreme 
pain in his face.
	"You're not going to hog all the fun, are you hedgehog?" a voice said from behind 
them.
	"Sally, is that you?" Sonic asked turning around.
	"It sure is," Sally said as she stepped into view.
	"How did you get here?" Tails asked.
	"When Nathan let us out I came here, he asked us all to just stay away from here, 
but I slipped away when he wasn't looking," Sally said, "I am the princess, I can do what 
I want."
	Suddenly Dragon got up and said, "I will return!" and with that he disappeared into 
thin air.
	"Well he may have gotten away for now, but that was a great shot Sally," Sonic 
said as he walked closer to Sally.
	"Thanks! Sonic!" Sally said.
	At that moment Nathan came into the room and said, "The citizens have returned 
to the city."
	"All right good job," Nate said as he had woken up completely and was now 
standing straight up.
	"Sonic, I've got a question," Nathan asked turning towards Sonic.
	"What is it?" Sonic asked.
	"Do you know where Nate Morgan and Knuckles are?" Nathan asked, "It's 
important that I bring both of them here immediately."
	"Yeah they should both be on the Floating Island," Sonic said.
	"Thanks," Nathan said as he started walking towards the door, he stopped and 
turned towards Tails, "One more thing, Tails would like to come with me to the Floating 
Island?"
